Canon vs. Nikon *HELP PLEASE!

Well hello there! I am FINALLY getting my camera this weekend! *fingers crossed* I just don't know for certain which one I want. Right now, I'm leaning towards the Canon Rebel T3. It's got HD video and 12.2 megapixels and it's in my price range. There's also the Nikon D3100 that has HD video but only 10 megapixels. I really love Nikon and I don't want to switch to Canon, but I think right now it's what's best. I plan on getting a new, professional grade camera when I graduate in May. The camera I buy now will just be my back-up.

But what do you think? Do you have a Nikon or a Canon? What do you like about it? What are the Pros and the Cons?

I always buy Canon cameras, they're excellent quality. I currently have the Canon T3i and LOVE LOVE LOVE it!
They're very user friendly and you can pick it pretty quickly. (or at least I did because I owned a Canon p&s previously.)

I don't think Nikon can really compete. haha

I have the Nikon D3100 and I have to say I absolutely love it. It's easy enough to use for quick shoots and I still have the flexibility to be specific with my settings whenever I want. I'm not a camera expert at all and I think I picked up on it pretty quickly, not to mention have taken some pictures I'm really happy with!

I use a Nikon as my personal camera, and we use Canons at work. I think, to be honest, it's about how it feels in your hands and the user interface for you. Good luck!!
