...And The Camera Breaks

So, today I was out taking pictures. My camera broke. I'm not sure how exactly, but it did. I got four shots and my shutter died. I'm done talking now. So, without further ado, here are those four shots.

I had to give myself a bit of a tan in these pictures otherwise, you would all be blind by now.

Outdoorsy

I really do not have that much to say tonight other than "Here are my pictures!". I guess I could tell you a little about my day just to keep you entertained for a bit.
My manfriend and I were out and about today, mostly playing at the park and getting our Splurge on. There were some pretty thick woods out behind the playground so we went into them and snapped a few pictures. There was also an abandoned train on the way out of the park, so we pulled over and got a few shots on the train as well.

Splurge!

DSC_0492
Splurge is the new hip and happening place here in central Louisiana. It's our new frozen yogurt shop that just so happens to be the best place ever. This shop is the total package. It has super amazing fro yo, a fun atmosphere, and incredibly nice workers. What more could you ask for?! The buffet style setup is probably my favorite thing about Splurge. You can get as little or as much as you like. You can make it as healthy or as artery clogging as you wish! Splurge is certainly my new favorite place. It's a great place to go and spend some time with friends after school, on weekends, or just any time for that matter.

Conductor

So today, I went to visit my manfriend. Before I got on my way, I stopped at the railroad crossing to take a few shots. As I got out of my car, I heard a train whistle. I looked down the rail to spot the train. It was a good half mile away at this point, so I had set up my tripod and my timer and I had everything ready. I saw that the train was only 50 or so feet away, so I set my self timer. I was so very excited because I was going to get amazing pictures with a moving train 5 behind me.
I turned around and the conductor saw me and waved, she was a lady just so you know. Then I turned and posed, my shutter snapped, and the train had passed. The train was much, much smaller than the normal 100+ car trains that typically pass in front of my house. There was only 5 or 6 cars on this train and my plan of having amazing pictures didn't work out. Needless to say, I am very sad about this. All in all, I've had a very wonderful day. How was yours? Really, I want to know! I love hearing your stories.

This was my "Seriously? Did you SERIOUSLY just pass me? ALREADY?!" face.
Just in case you were wondering, yes, my skirt is the jean shirt that I had worn in yesterday's post. I got a little creative. I was a little inspired by a picture that I had seen in The Sartorialist's book. Of course, the girl in the picture had pulled it off far better than I did, but hey, this was my first try.

My shoes come untied quite often. I hardly ever bother retying them.
My hat also had to be a bit DIY'd. Yesterday during my nap time, my dog had gotten a hold of my hat and had eaten the feathers off. My hat was perfectly fine, besides the terrible smell that it now has, but all the feathers had been chewed off. I really loved the feathers on my hat but there was no way that they could have been saved at that point. So, I found a peacock feather that I had lying around my room and I put it on my hat. I think that I like it better this way.

Baby, It's Cold Outside

It's true. This is the coldest that it has been all year down here in Louisiana. It's about 32 right now, but it's been in the low 20's. We haven't gotten any snow, of course. Snow would be too good to be true, here. Instead, it just ices over. And when I say ice, I mean lots and lots of ice. I'm almost certain that I've never seen this much ice here in my life. Last year it snowed a good bit, but there wasn't nearly as much ice as there is this time. I'm kinda enjoying it. It's pretty outside. :)DSC_0392
This morning when I woke up there was SO much ice covering my entire yard. I went out around 9:30 and snapped a few shots. I came inside and I wasn't happy with only taking a few so around 11:00 I went to my trusted railroad to get some more shots. I got way too many for one post so I'll have to make this a two part blog. One for my outfit shots, another for the miscellaneous shots that I took outside.

Last night, I was looking trough The Sartorialist and a noticed a lot of his subjects were wearing blue jean shirts. I've also noticed a trend forming with them throughout the blogging world. I don't have any money right now so I couldn't go out and buy one, so I asked my step dad if he owned one. He did, and now I own one. So, kudos to him!

I'm sorry that shoe wise, I've given no variation over my last few posts. I'm just so addicted to these boots. They go with everything and they are so incredibly comfortable. I can't stop wearing them!
